As long as my math is correct, today is Finland's 105th independence day and I wanted to recognize/celebrate it in some tiny way as a Finn myself. Here's hoping our trigger happy neighbor don't get any wild ideas about invading us anytime soon!

Haven't browsed DeviantArt for awhile, got a bit suspicious when I saw great works of art with next to no favorites, nevermind comments. Then I looked into it and found out it was all AI art, is there a way to filter this? When I first heard people were talking about boycotting DeviantArt because of it I understood that it had mainly to do with protecting your own art from being used in it but now I'm starting to get it from a "discovering new art that's actually made by people" perspective. Not that I'm thinking about quitting DeviantArt, for anyone that may or may not care, but it's just a shame that it's apparently clogging up the feed these days. I'd rather see the flawed and rough art that someone spent hours drawing, something they've practiced for even years to make. I'm not here to see stuff brought forward from a machine. I dunno, if nothing else I use DeviantArt as a straightforward gallery for my own artwork but I really hope they do something about separating AI art and

So, seems like my journals are a yearly thing, these short moments of screaming into the void about what's up with me. Actually quite a lot has happened since last year, I've started studying photography at an art school that'll be going on for 4 years (one down as of tomorrow) so that's nice. Learned a lot about that, especially considering I didn't really know anything about photography before then. Including how expensive the equipment really is. Seriously though it's been quite eye opening, today anyone with a phone thinks they know how to take a good photograph that they flood instagram with, in a sense it's nice to live and let live but
